Cercestis mirabilis — commonly known as the African Embossed Aroid — is one of the most visually striking and sought-after collector aroids in the world. Native to the tropical rainforests of West and Central Africa, this extraordinary plant is prized for its deeply textured, almost sculptural foliage that appears to be embossed or hammered in relief.

Juvenile leaves emerge with a distinctive patterned surface, while mature leaves develop dramatic lobing and an intensely corrugated texture that makes each plant a living work of art. No two plants are identical, making every specimen a truly unique addition to any serious collection.

• Water: Allow the top 2–3 cm of soil to dry between waterings; do not overwater
• Humidity: Thrives in high humidity (60%+); misting or a humidifier is recommended
• Temperature: Prefers warm conditions between 18–28°C; protect from cold drafts
• Soil: Well-draining aroid mix with perlite and bark for excellent aeration
• Fertiliser: Feed monthly during the growing season with a balanced liquid fertiliser
