Monstera Obliqua 'Filamentous'
Monstera Obliqua 'Filamentous'
If there is one plant that separates serious collectors from casual enthusiasts, it is the Monstera Obliqua 'Filamentous'. One of the rarest and most extraordinary forms of Monstera in existence, the Filamentous form is defined by its impossibly delicate leaves — so heavily fenestrated that the leaf tissue is reduced to a lace-like web of fine filaments, with holes that far outweigh the green. It is less leaf, more living sculpture.
Found in the wild in extremely limited pockets of South American rainforest, the Obliqua Filamentous is a slow-growing, highly sought-after specimen that rarely comes to market. Owning one is a milestone in any serious aroid collection — a conversation piece, a trophy, and a testament to your passion for the extraordinary.
Care Guide
- Light: Bright indirect light; never direct sun — the delicate leaf tissue burns easily
- Water: Keep consistently moist but never waterlogged; high sensitivity to both over and underwatering
- Humidity: Requires 70–90% humidity; a terrarium or humidity cabinet is strongly recommended
- Temperature: Warm and stable, 20–28°C; avoid any cold drafts or temperature fluctuations
- Soil: Very well-draining, airy aroid mix; sphagnum moss or a perlite-heavy blend works well
- Fertiliser: Diluted balanced fertiliser monthly during the growing season; less is more
Note: This is an extremely rare and delicate specimen recommended for experienced collectors. Please research care requirements thoroughly before purchasing.
Plant is sold in its nursery pot. Decorative pot not included unless stated.
