Sempervivum Pittoni
$7.99
The Sempervivum Pittoni is a rare and sought-after hens-and-chicks succulent, prized by collectors for its tight, symmetrical rosettes and distinctive colouring. Leaves shift from soft green to rich burgundy-red tones depending on sun exposure and season — a living mood ring that changes with the light. True to its name (sempervivum meaning "always alive"), it is remarkably tough and self-propagating, producing charming offsets that cluster around the mother plant.
- Light: Full sun to bright indirect light; more sun = more intense colour
- Water: Drought tolerant — water deeply then allow to dry completely; reduce to almost nothing in winter
- Soil: Fast-draining succulent or alpine grit mix; excellent drainage is critical
- Temperature: Frost hardy — one of the toughest succulents available, tolerating well below 0°C
- Humidity: Prefers low humidity; avoid overhead watering and misting
- Pet-friendly: Non-toxic to cats and dogs
Ideal for rockeries, alpine troughs, pots, or windowsills. Each plant is hand-selected and carefully packed for safe delivery across Australia.
