Senecio stapeliiformis – Pickle Plant
$8.99
Meet the Pickle Plant
With its striking upright stems and unusual texture, Senecio stapeliiformis — affectionately known as the Pickle Plant — is a true collector's gem. Native to the rocky outcrops of South Africa, this rare succulent produces cylindrical, mottled green stems with subtle purple striping that mimic the look of a cactus without the fierce spines.
Come summer, it rewards patient growers with vivid orange-red daisy-like blooms that add a dramatic pop of colour to any collection. Compact, architectural, and effortlessly cool — this is the plant that makes visitors stop and ask, "What is that?"
Care Guide
- Light: Bright, direct sunlight — a sunny windowsill or outdoor spot is ideal
- Water: Drought-tolerant; water sparingly and allow soil to dry completely between waterings
- Soil: Well-draining succulent or cactus mix
- Temperature: Prefers warm conditions; protect from frost
- Fertiliser: Light feed during the growing season (spring–summer)
A low-maintenance rarity that punches well above its weight in visual impact.
